The Building Blocks of Language

Although there is a tendency to skip over the need to learn real grammar in today’s world, in order to master language, you must understand the inner workings of how language really works.

Before you can speak a sentence, you have to know the words. In order to know the words you need to know how words are made up. Complex words are made up of parts such as roots, prefixes and suffixes.

Of course, there is more to language than just words. Just as words are made up of many parts, so to can words be combined to make sentences and sentences into paragraphs.
